We’ve outlined menu details below.

See, touch, explore.
The Seattle Aquarium’s theme is “See, touch, explore” and the facility is set up to do just that. At each turn you will find not just aquariums although there are many and they are terrific, but hands-on touch tanks and interactive stations designed to delight, amaze and educate. It is an awesome way to share discoveries about the Puget Sound ecosystem. One of the most amazing underwater spots is the underwater dome offering 360 degree views into a 400,000 gallon tank filled with fish of all shapes, sizes and colors. Not to be missed: Plan to arrive and stay for feeding time because naturalists give short talks during feeding see birds that fly underwater, watch the Octopus having lunch. Stay on for training activities and watch school time for harbor seal, sea otters and fur seals. Bonus points: See real science happening. Twice a day, naturalists explain about the ongoing research being done about six-gill sharks. Just for families: So cool and rewarding, within the Aquarium the Family Activity Center allows parents to have a whale of a time with their children. The themed area is all about J-pod orca whales and their cousins who live in K and L pods. Need to Know: The least crowded time it visit is a weekday afternoon after 1 p.m, during the winter or weekday mornings during the summer.

Enjoy time on the water.
Argosy Cruises is a family-owned and Seattle-operated company that operates from the historic downtown Seattle waterfront, South Lake Union and Kirkland City Dock, providing visitors to the Seattle area a scenic way to view must-see tourist attractions. Bonus points: CityPASS holders can upgrade Their Argosy Cruises ticket to a Locks Cruise, Lakes Cruise Seattle, Lakes Cruise Kirkland, or a Royal Argosy Lunch or Dinner Cruise for an additional fee. Not to be missed: The 4-hour Tillicum Village experience includes a cruise to Blake Island, a buffet featuring tradition Indian-style baked salmon and Tillicum whole grain bread, and an after-dinner show featuring Tillicum Village dancers. You might also want to consider one of their Murder Mystery Cruises.

Experience flight. The Museum of Flight has something to offer every member of your family or group. Experience the story of flight from the dawn of aviation to the Space Age. Step into the Personal Courage Wing and experience stories of courage as told through a collection of 28 fighter aircraft—in a setting that will simply amaze you. In the steel and glass Great Gallery, the history of aviation soars past, with dozens of full-size aircraft flying in formation six stories above. Sit in the cockpit of a real SR-71 Blackbird or F/A-18 Hornet. Climb aboard the sleek Concorde. Bonus points: The Red Bar contains rare artifacts, such as the famous mail bag carried in 1919 by Boeing, Sr., and Eddie Hubbard during the first international U.S. Air Mail flight from Vancouver, B.C., to Seattle; a re-created Boeing factory workshop. Not-to-be missed: Viking FC#3 Mars Lander, located in the side gallery, is the only Viking Lander Flight Capsule body left on Earth. Across the street from the main building is America's first presidential jet—Air Force One. Just for families: Throughout the day docents conduct interactive story sessions directed to younger visitors. The schedules vary by day and location.

Explore science on the edge. At the Pacific Science Center you will find exhibits ranging from the Mesozoic era, an insect village, to adventures in 3Dimensions, the center is dedicated to making science fun for everyone. Not to be missed: Travel back in time to the Mesozoic Era, with the Dinosaurs: A Journey Through Time exhibit. Meet seven movingi, roaring, robotic dinos along with many more exciting activities. Just for families: The exciting Family Science Workshop series pairs up parents and students (K-6) to study the science of the sea, or oceanography in fun two-hour workshops. Also the KidWorks exhibit allows kids to be see them self on TV as a Guest Meteorologist in the KING5 First Alert, freeze their shadow on the Shadow Wall, and much more.

Count the species. The Woodland Park Zoo has been an integral part of the Seattle community for more than 100 years. Encompassing 92 acres, and home to more than 1,090 individual animals representing nearly 300 species, the zoo is divided into bioclimatic zones from the tropical rain forests of the equator to the frigid artic climes of the Far North. Meet the elephant keepers; watch zoo staff as they feed fish to the endangered Humboldt penguins; meet resident raptors or watch an anaconda in the Tropical Rain Forest exhibit. Not to be missed: Back for its third season, the popular walk-through bird feeding experience transports visitors to the world of the Australian parrot – and the Australian grasslands habitat. Willawong Station is a fun opportunity for the whole family to get up close and feed birds in a controlled, safe environment while learning about responsible care for birds both in the wild and at home. The aviary includes approximately 150 free-flying birds and bird feedings are available at Willawong Station on Saturdays and Sundays. Bonus points: The Woodland Park Zoo offers a wonderful overnight zoo experience. The theme is the Mystery of the Missing Penguin – participants will come up-close and personal with an interesting zoo resident, follow a trail of evidence around the zoo and determine whodunit. The morning after everyone will enjoy a continental breakfast; compete for the Best Bed Head Award and take a daylight tour of the zoo. Just for families: The nature-centered, interactive facility is divided into nature-themed zones and encourages active play and learning. A day in the 5,500-square-foot Zoomazium play space might include ascending a mountain, crawling through a nurse log, climbing a towering strangler fig tree or squirming through a dark cave. At Nature Exchange, kids can trade their nature knowledge and observations for all kinds of fascinating things like a fossilized shark’s tooth. Storytelling, live animal demonstrations, videos, theatre performance, arts and crafts, and more await inquisitive and playful youngsters.
