“Art of the Pumpkin” at Dallas Arboretum Launches Autumn with Creativity. Each year Dallas Arboretum programming for fall invites inspiration and discovery with engaging activities for families making it easy to transition to fall. The 2017 menu of festivities includes not just thousands of pumpkins but also the magical Land of OZ.Amazing Pumpkin Village at Dallas Arboretum

It is officially pumpkin time again in Dallas and the Arboretum is pumpkin central for North Texas. Although I have never actually verified the number of colorful pumpkins, gourds and squash assembled (90,000 plus), the impression is always memorable. Make certain your phone battery is charged because the opportunities for great pictures abound.  Dallas Arboretum Magical Pumpkin Carriage

Here’s the scoop. For the more than a decade the one-acre Pumpkin Village in the Pecan Grove has been populated by imaginative pumpkin houses artfully built using thousands of gourds, pumpkins, squash, and corncobs plus bales of hay and cornstalks for extra atmosphere. Highlights of the amazing, most magical village include Cinderella’s “Pumpkin” Carriage, the Haybale Maze, and the Great Pumpkin Search. In addition the Adventure Garden will be hosting a variety of exciting daily activities during the fall season.

I am thrilled to discover that the Dallas Arboretum has a seasonal sleepover option for families which takes place on select nights during the year including September and October. The Family Overnights program in the Children’s Adventure Garden allows parents or grandparents to share the gardens in a unique way. Overnight guests have the chance to join a night hike together, create their own seed bombs and participate in Texas Native Wetlands, Pure Energy and OmniGlobe programs.
Location on the planet: The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden is located on the southeastern shore of White Rock Lake at 8525 Garland Road, Dallas, Texas 75218.

Make it happen.
