Road Tripping the British Isles. If visiting Britain is on your family bucket list but London seems to be a bit much, skip the urban experience rent a motorhome and create your own family adventure. Take the road less traveled, stop whenever and wherever you wish. It is the beauty of road tripping.Road tripping Scottish Highlands

Rural England, Scotland, and Ireland offer easy paced opportunities for family fun doing the simplest of things surrounded by bucolic beauty with quaint villages, the requisite sheep, stone walls, hedgerows part of the daily view. The pace is slow and the peacefulness is real.

I have found the roads to be fine and driving on the left is easy. The road signs make it obvious and the location of driver’s seat is a constant reminder. Traffic circles are no more challenging than in the US and folks seem to be slightly more courteous if and when you get lost. Yes, we have gotten lost more than once but each time it only added unique memories to our holiday. Road Tripping Lake District

The camping facilities we have used were excellent with plenty of amenities. Everywhere we stopped there was a sense of community rain or shine. The atmosphere of a caravan park seems evoke camaraderie, and much like in the States or Canada, sharing road stories is part of the experience.

When traveling with babies or toddlers, the advantages are many. The motoring space is compact, comfy and easy to baby proof. The napping schedule need not disrupt the day and if you plan it right, unpacking only happens one time. It’s like taking a land cruise. Road Tripping British Isle Footpath Signs

If your vacation companions are of school age the number of unique experiences to be shared is almost endless. I have found making real connections for your kids can make a big difference, hence the bucket list concept. Give them curated choices.  I have relied on children’s literature based the British Isles. From Beatrix Potter’s books, the Harry Potter series, and the Railway Children to tales of Robin Hood, King Arthur with his Knights of the Round Table, and Chronicles of Narnia, the list goes on and on. Your adventure will certainly unique to your family and some of the best places are worth the extra effort.

Make it happen. Luna Motorhome Hire is one option to make your adventure a reality. They have a fleet of motorhomes ideal for a family adventure England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, or almost anywhere in Europe.
