Oregon: Bend, Family Vacation Ideas - Discover What’s Around the Bend. Wanderlust Tours is offering a schedule of monthly special evening snowshoe events for the winter and spring holidays, in addition to its daily half-day guided snowshoe tours. Half-day snowshoe tours will begin around Thanksgiving, depending on snowfall, and run daily at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. through winter and spring, and will depart daily from Bend and Sunriver, with additional departures during weekends and holidays from Eagle Crest and Black Butte Ranch.

Special evening events, such as Moonlight Snowshoe Tours and Bonfire on the Snow events depart from Bend and Sunriver on specific dates for Christmas, New Year’s Eve, Valentine’s Day and others throughout the winter and spring. All trips are led by professional naturalist guides, who take guests off trails and away from other people into a snowy winter wonderland.

Guides provide vibrant natural and cultural history interpretation along the way and include fun snow play for all ages during the trip. Half-day tours are $37 for adults and $34 for children under 12. Special events range from $55 to $85 per person. All Wanderlust’s snowshoe tours include a naturalist guide, transportation, equipment, instruction and hot chocolate with marshmallows.

Wanderlust Tours Snowshoe Events Winter/Spring

Snowshoe Tours. Snowshoe off trail and away from other people into a snowy winter wonderland. Wanderlust Tours’ professional naturalist guides bring the area alive with vibrant interpretation along the way and snow play for all ages. (Daily Half-day Tours, beginning around Thanksgiving, depending on snow levels.)

Trips are customized for all adventure desires – leap off powder-covered lava flows and get “air” on snowshoes like never imagined (even teens will love it!) or just stroll easily on flatter areas if that’s more your style – all on the same trip!

Moonlight Snowshoe Tours. Snowshoe by the light of the moon! Discover the Cascades with the bright, romantic moonlight reflecting off of the white snow, and look for signs of animals in their nocturnal wonderland. Wanderlust Tours’ naturalist guides bring the forest alive with fun natural and cultural history interpretation along the way, and top the trip off with hot chocolate and marshmallows. Bonfire on the Snow – Winter Holiday Week. Celebrate the holidays with your family like you never have before! Naturalist guides share fun facts about the forest, its animal life and the night sky while you relax around the fire enjoying desserts and hot drinks. New Years Eve Bonfire on the Snow. For a New Year’s Eve like no other, snowshoe a short way with a Wanderlust Tours guide to a quiet spot in the snowy forest to bask at a glowing “bonfire” in the middle of an amazing amphitheater hand carved into the snow! Relax around the crackling fire while enjoying catered desserts and ring in the New Year with a variety of hot drinks. Bonfire on the Snow – Martin Luther King, Jr. Weekend.
