Share the world with your kids. With something for everyone, Mashantucket Pequot Museum and Research Center is an engaging experience for all ages. Mashantucket Pequot is the largest and most comprehensive Native American museum and research center in the world. It offers over four acres of exhibits – and two separate museums, one geared specifically toward children. Exhibits include life-size walkthrough dioramas, live performances of contemporary arts and cultures, interactive exhibits spanning 18,000 years of Native and natural history and an extensive library collection. Enjoy nature. Established in 1946, the Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center is dedicated to inspiring appreciation of the natural world. The center combines a wildlife sanctuary, visitor attraction and educational facility. Visitors of all ages are invited to explore natural history exhibits which examine the diverse interrelationships of animals, plants and non-renewable resources. For those interested in outdoor exploration, the 300-acre wildlife sanctuary offers a variety of woodland, wetland and meadow habitats with eight miles of hiking trails. Go for the fun. The fabulous Children’s Museum of Southeastern Connecticut is an interactive, hand-on educational experience for kids.
