golf and plenty of entertainment to fill the nights.
The Endless Vacation resort group offers unique family vacation benefits.
Seaside locations include Sea Watch, Beach Cove Resort, Caravelle and Ocean
Creek Resort. Go for the golf and stay for the fun.
Our idea menu of vacation
activities includes the good stuff.
Get back to nature.
Coastal Expeditions, one of Charleston’s oldest kayak outfitters provides guided
kayak tours of estuary/barrier island habitats along the longest stretch of
protected coastline on the Eastern seaboard. All of the guides are naturalists
with extensive local knowledge and all participants in the tours are considered
valued team members on an adventure of exploration through the stunning
protected coastal waters of South Carolina.
The wheels [on the bikes] go
round and round.
Established in 1988, Bicycles-n-Gear is Myrtle Beach’s premier cycling shop.
Located inside of the Sports Corner they carry only top-of-the-line bicycles,
inline skates and everything you need to enjoy South Carolina’s Grand Strand on
non-motorized wheels.
Find KidsArt at the beach.
Easy to enjoy, family friendly and welcoming best describe The Franklin G.
Burroughs-Simeon B. Chapin Art Museum located footsteps from the beach. They
provide ongoing discovery programs for young children as well as families. The
ambience created by the former beach house turned art museum is peaceful and
inspiring. The contemporary galleries do not overwhelm instead offering an
energizing tribute to art and living. Bonus points: Second Saturdays at
the Art Museum offers a chance for children to explore their creativity through
a variety of arts and themes. Fun stuff includes faux stained glass, photo
journals, strip quilts, wearable art and sand candles.
Castle a spell.
MagiQuest is a new family vacation experience that
utilizes
patented technology to create a
magical experience
for participants. It all begins with a personalized “magic wand” to enjoy
during the interactive adventure and keep for the future. Participants of all
ages are quickly trained as “Magi,” (short for magical beings). The training
results in skills that when used correctly set off
lightning bolts, control
music, open treasure chests and
perform heroic deeds.
The fun involves role-playing, teamwork, skill and imagination.
Fun in the Sun.
Myrtle Beach’s Family Kingdom Amusement Park has over 30 rides including an
all-wooden roller coaster, the Swamp Fox, a long flume, Go-Kart tracks, bumper
cars, a historical carousel, and the largest ferris wheel in the state.
Admittance to the park is free, and the rides are pay as you go – so family’s
can do as much or as little as they want. For a great way to cool off families
should try the nearby Ocean Front Water Park, Myrtle Beach’s only water park
actually on the ocean. With three wet-and-wild water flumes, one with a 185-foot
drop, two exhilarating speed slides and many other water-themed rides and
attractions the water park is the ideal way to beat the heat.
Prepare to be entertained.
The
theatre venues in the Myrtle Beach area are topnotch and the entertainment
variety for families is exceptional. Alabama Theatre features One-The Show, a
high-energy production with impressive choreography, sophisticated music,
comedy, glamorous costumes and amazing special effects. The Palace Theatre, on
the edge of Broadway at the Beach has two terrific productions. The Spirit of
the Dance is a high-spirited dance show set to techno-like music. Sharing
theatre time on alternate nights, Lullabies of Broadway is featured. Dinner
theatre combinations include Medieval Times and Dixie Stampede. Bonus points:
The Palace also has a one-hour morning variety show. Meet to enjoy coffee,
doughnuts or muffins and a one-hour family variety show.
Experience high energy, edgy
fun. The House of
Blues, at Barefoot Landing is within eyesight of the Alabama Theatre, the
entertainment venue is pure fun. From the outside it looks like an old shack or
warehouse. They feature well-known entertainment like the Dave Matthew’s Band,
The Vines, and 50Cent. Sometimes there are teen nights. Bonus points: For
some of the performances they offer a gate crasher ticket that includes early
entry along with a pre-set meal. The obvious benefit for those that pay the
surcharge is the chance to secure a position close to the stage. Because the
theatre is small by industry standards, the enjoyment factor is high.
See the animals.
Low Country History & Wildlife Preserve is part of the tranquil Brookgreen
Gardens. The options for families are unique to the area. From bouncing along in
an oversized jeep to gliding along in a 48-passenger pontoon boat, the
experience will be one-of-a-kind. The all-natural exhibit showcases the history
from the time of the early Native American residents. The Low Country habitats
feature non-releasable animals and include a waterfowl aviary built over a tidal
swamp, river otter and alligator habitats along a creek. Bonus points:
Interpreters onsite provide a variety of ways for visitors to interact with
nature and its inhabitants.
Walk through the water.
Believe it or not, Ripley’s has an amazing aquarium at Broadway on the Beach. It
showcases some of the worlds' most curious as well as awesome aquatic life.
Interactive and inviting the displays invite questions and provoke thought.
Touch a horseshoe crab; pet a manta ray; crawl through a tunnel or watch a diver
feed the fish; it is fun for all ages. Bonus points: From now until the
end of 2005 visitors will enjoy Titanic – The Exhibition, featuring 28 themed
displays that include hands-on experiences, interactive exhibits, films and live
marine life. Throughout the year they offer special camps for children.
Shopping made easy.
For anyone wishing to engage in a shopping marathon there are many places to
include. Old standbys like the
Tanger Outlet Center host
coupons at their website, making it easy to strike a plan. Closest to the sea,
the Colonial
Mall-Myrtle Beach has more than 95 specialty shops and a 10-plex cinema. A new
enclosed mall is open
at the intersection of
Highway 17 Bypass and Highway 501. In addition to pure shopping, it is the
location of Jungle Fun an indoor entertainment experience for the entire family.
Bonus points:
Check the trolley route for shopping stops.
X-treme shopping fun.
Being cool and on vacation, what could be better? Locally owned and operated in
the heart of Myrtle Beach, X-treme Surf and Skateboard Co targets the hottest
new trends and offers reasonable prices while providing the most advance surf
and skate merchandise in the Myrtle Beach area. Locals and tourists alike will
