Experience sensational sound of summer nights. The always popular “Summer Nights” concert series is taking place this month at Busch Gardens. Legendary rockers perform every Saturday and Sunday through Aug. 17. Rick Springfield and Grand Funk Railroad drew huge crowds the first two weekends. This weekend, The Charlie Daniels Band is scheduled to perform, and The Guess Who performs Aug. 9 – 10. Peter Frampton wraps up the final weekend of the Summer Nights concert series Aug. 16 – 17. All concerts begin at 8 p.m. at Festhaus Park and are included with park admission or a season pass. Lawn seating only, bring your blanket. Please note that lawn chairs are not permitted in the park and concert area.
Enjoy nostalgic sock hop nights. Busch Gardens celebrates the golden age of rock ‘n’ roll with the “Sock Hop Nights” concert series. Chubby Checker returns to Busch Gardens to twist the night away Aug. 23 and 24. The Four Tops will sing their classics Aug. 30 and 31. Artists will perform two shows, at 6:30 p.m. and 9 p.m., in the Royal Palace Theatre. Concerts are included with park admission or a season pass.
Taste the best BBQ. Enjoy some of the world’s best barbecue at the world’s “Most Beautiful Park.” Busch Gardens presents Bud & BBQ – an all-new event for 2008 that celebrates great food, great beer and great music. Guests also will hear some great country and Bluegrass bands, including performances by Aaron Tippin, Sept. 6 – 7, and Josh Gracin, Sept. 13 - 14. Bud & BBQ takes place Sept. 6 – 7 and 13 – 14.
Screaming in September. Prepare to be screamin’ scared as Busch Gardens. Busch Gardens’ Howl-O-Scream celebrates 10 years of bone-chilling thrills this season. The Williamsburg adventure park began celebrating the “scream season” in 1999 as a three-weekend event featuring three themed shows and two maze-like attractions. Since then, the size of the event has quadrupled and continues to expand each year. The park’s annual festival of fright begins Sept. 19 and runs every Friday, Saturday and Sunday through Oct. 26.

Halloween’s ever-increasing popularity now places it sixth overall in holiday consumer spending.
Bonus points: The park will have pumpkin-scare ratings listed by each themed attraction, so families can evaluate what attractions are suitable for young children. For the latest frightful information visit
