The San Roque Club, created in 1988 on a hilltop in a nature reserve near the golfing icons of Sotogrande and Valderrama, was acquired from the Domecq dynasty. A magnificent mansion, former home of the Domecq family, was converted into a splendid clubhouse with wonderful facilities including two restaurants, a bar and a stunning patio overlooking the 9th and 18th greens.
The San Roque golf course along with the clubhouse was officially opened in 1990. These challenging 18-holes were conceived by Tony Jacklin, ex-Ryder Cup player and Captain, and designed by Dave Thomas, an eminent course designer and fellow ex-Ryder Cup player. While The San Roque Club offers special programs so that golfers can enjoy nearby courses, its own course is rapidly becoming the preferred golf in the region.
Location on the planet: The resort is 30 minutes from Gibraltar and just an hour from Malaga airport.
