Hawaii: Maui, Spa Grande at Grand Wailea Offers a Spa Experience for the Whole Family.  Indulge your keiki (children) with a Wave Massage, Chocolate-Coconut Scrub or Honey Sugar Manicure. Spa Grande at Grand Wailea, named one of the “Top 10 Spas the United States” by Conde Nast Traveler, offers complete spa menus for children six to 12 and teens 13 and older.
Spa vacations have always made sense to me. I mean really, if mom is happy, then everyone will be happy. I am thrilled to learn about spa options for families because once your children are initiated there will always be spas included in your future family vacations. Each of my children enjoyed their first spa experience at the age of 12 - kind of a family right of passage. And now we have three generations eager to share spa days and more importantly spa time on vacaiton. A decdae ago it was unual to find spas with family policies but times are changing as exemplified by Spa Grande at Grand Wailea. so if you like the idea of combing family vacaiton time and spa time read on.
Keiki Spa. Children can enjoy their first Spa Grande treatment and choose from a variety of kid-friendly spa treatments. The Wailea includes a 25-minute chocolate coconut massage, a 25-minute tropical facial, a chocolate-coconut manicure and pedicure, 4 braids and a small henna tattoo. The Maui packagae includes the same as the Wailea, but instead of hair braids, a hair color gel application is included. Finally, the Chocolate Tsunami package offers your pampered kid a 25-minute chocolate coconut massage, and a chocolate-coconut manicure and pedicure. Sounds positively decadent, right?
Teen Spa. The Teen Spa menu focuses on treatments that target adolescents' skin. The Anuenue (Rainbow) treatment includes a 25-minute crystal massage, a 25-minute facial of choice, a 90-minute manicure/pedicure and a 45-hairstyling and henna tattoo session. The Kelekele (Mud) treatment offers teens a 25-minute wave massage, a 25-minute mud body wrap and a 25-minute facial of choice, while the Kokolea (Chocolate) treatment, offers a 25-minute cocoa butter massage, a 25-minutes chocolate-coconut scrub and, of course a a 25-minute facial of choice. The perfect thing to mellow out a wound-up teen. Teens may also attend Co-ed Teen Spa Night during which teens 13 – 17 gather in the Terme Wailea Hydrotherapy to relax and learn more about spa etiquette and bathing rituals.
