California: Kid's Cooking
School Pan Pacific.
The
Pan Pacific San Francisco has just introduced their own Kid's Cooking
School, a new concept for children celebrating birthdays or any other
special occasion. The Executive Chef will lead the group through a
series of cooking demonstrations before assisting them in preparing
their own delicacies, which will later be enjoyed at their luncheon (or
dinner) in the hotel's restaurant, PACIFIC.
In addition to learning culinary crafts and enjoying the "fruits of
their labor," children will also have the opportunity to decorate their
own aprons and toques. Groups of ten must be accommodated by at least
two adult guardians, are limited to at least 5 but no more than 10
children, ages 8-18. The price is $48.00 per person, inclusive of tax
and gratuity, which includes a Saturday or Sunday cooking class,
3-course lunch (or dinner, which may be priced a bit higher) created by
the children and served in PACIFIC, personally decorated (by the
children) apron and toque, and parking for two cars. Ideally, children
should arrive at the hotel by 9:30 a.m. for the luncheon party or by
4:00 p.m. for a dinner party.
Overnight hotel packages are also available for those who would like to
package together a sleepover in conjunction with the Kid's Cooking
School. Rates start at $670 for a Pacific Suite (upgrades available)
which accommodates two adults in a king size bed and up to 10 children
(with their own sleeping bags), and includes one night's accommodations,
snacks for the children (i.e.: popcorn, sodas, cookies), choice of two
video rental movies, and Continental room service breakfast. Pacific
Suites offer a spacious 800-square-foot area that includes one room with
a king bed and an oversized marble bathroom (our suggestion for the
mandatory adult chaperones) and a comfortable living room area, which
features plenty of room for the children's sleeping bags, and an
additional bathroom.
