Pennsylvania: Hidden Valley, Skiing, Boarding, and Snow Tubing the Ice Monster.
Hidden Valley Resort has created winter amusement area called “Outback Park”. The new area features The Ice Monster, the longest, steepest snow-tubing run in Pennsylvania.
There are six turbo-tubing chutes groomed in various lengths for all ages and abilities. Outback Park will also feature two lifts to move snow tubers up the hill, several hundred new and improved snow tubes, snowmaking, and lighting for night tubing under the stars.
In another section of the park younger snow tubers will be able to enjoy their own tubing with a 75 foot surface carpet to move them back to the start of their snow tubing fun. Toddlers will likewise have their own section for snow tubing complete with mini snow tubes, and a 25-foot surface carpet. Also for younger children the park has an Igloo Snow Playground, and a Sun Kids Carousel. The playground will allow smaller children to make their own fun by crawling in, around, and through the snow. The carousel gently pulls young snow tubers in a circle at ground level.
This is just part of Hidden Valley's improvements to make the winter even more fun. They have added three new ski slopes. Hidden Valley is now the fourth largest winter resort in Pennsylvania with a total of 28 slopes and trails, seven hundred feet of vertical, an extended novice trail one and a half miles long, and twelve lifts to keep you on the slopes and not waiting in line.
Discovery: Hidden Valley's reconverted Barn is the location for the Cross Country Ski and Winter Biking Center and has snow tubing rentals as well as restrooms.
