Florida: Cape Canaveral, Kennedy Space Center - Family Vacations with Space.
Worlds apart from Orlando’s theme parks but just a short drive away, Kennedy Space Center provides families with a terrific way to share in the fun and learn together.
Here's the scoop. At Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, families get the unique chance to tour – up close – NASA’s launch and landing facilities, experience interactive simulators, enjoy live shows and have jaw-dropping encounters with massive rockets. Plus, you can even meet a veteran NASA astronaut.
Enroll at Starfleet Academy. Families visiting the Kennedy Space Center at Cape Canaveral can now join Starfleet Academy. New recruits report to the academy only to be unexpectedly whisked into an adventure steeped in the grand tradition of Star Trek.
Best part: Mad Science® presents STAR TREK LIVE, a live 30-minute interactive show combining cutting-edge special effects, unmatched audience interaction, cool science and on-screen appearances from Captain Kirk and Spock themselves to create an exhilarating and unforgettable theatrical experience.
Eager to learn from Starfleet's best and brightest, the cadets assemble, anxious to prepare for their first day at the Academy.

As they are introduced to the Academy, the Earth itself comes under attack from a renegade Romulan, leaving the fate of the future itself in the hands of the cadets. The cadets will have to quickly learn the intricacies of living and working in space, modern space travel and the latest in communication and technology as they draw on the achievements of science in the 21st century. It will require all our knowledge, ingenuity, logic and an exploration of science to discover what is happening and how to set things right before it's too late.
Celebrate the Apollo Missions. On July 20, 1969 the crew of Apollo 11 landed on the moon. To make the journey the crew - Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins, launched the massive Saturn V rocket from Kennedy Space Center, carrying the hopes and dreams of mankind with them.
Apollo 13 was a different story. What was to have been the third manned moon landing, an explosion onboard the spacecraft changed the course of the mission and threatened the lives of crew members Jim Lovell, Jack Swigert and Fred Haise. After a joint rescue effort by the astronauts onboard and mission control back home, the crew returned safely back to Earth.
The Apollo Treasures Gallery showcases treasures from the Apollo moon missions, including Apollo 14 Commander Alan Shepard’s spacesuit along with a rare collection of spacesuits and other gear used by the Apollo moonwalkers to explore the lunar surface. Also on display is Apollo 16 astronaut John Young’s cuff check list with instructions on how to deploy the American flag on the moon and Apollo 13’s spacesuit repair kit and service module rescue book.
