Canada: Atlantic Provinces, Best Corn Mazes and Fall Festivals for Family Fun. Canada lighthouseThe Family Travel Files has posted a list of the best corn mazes and fall festivals for daytrips and weekend family fun in Atlantic Canada – Nova Scotia, PEI, and Quebec.

Nova Scotia: Port Williams, Willowbank Farm. Willowbank Farm is a working farm and in September and October, families can come and participate in Willowbank Farm’s U-Pick program, picking apples, pears and plums straight from the orchards. The varieties of apples include Gravenstiens, McIntosh and Cortland. The trees are pruned so that everyone in the family can reach for the perfect apple, and parking is available in the orchard, allowing you to almost lean out of your car to pick a bunch. All fruit can be picked by the pound or by the bag. Discovery: You can even feed apples to some of the farm animals. In October, families can come by the farm and find the perfect pumpkin just in time for Halloween. When? Québec: Notre-Dame-de-l'Île-Perrot, Le Verger Labonté. Families looking for festive fun this Autumn, should check out Le Verger Labonté near Montreal. At le Verger Labonté, families can pick their own apples, pumpkins or squash, search for clues in the corn and sunflower mazes, picnic, feed farm animals, take tractor rides, and enjoy delicious baked goods and house specialties. Discovery: There are three mazes each tailored to different age groups. Since 2006, Verger Labonté has created mazes in the cornfield. This activity is a way to have fun, enjoy nature, and learn something new. Each year, the theme and layout of the maze changes to provide new challenges. In addition, $1 of each entry fee goes towards humanitarian organizations to contribute to the well-being of the less fortunate. Québec: Saint-Eustache, La Magie de la Pomme. At the Ferme Roch Dubeault & Fils, a family farm in Saint-Eustache for six generations, families can discover a real-life sugar shack, an orchard, cereal fields, and more than 100 varieties of pumpkin and squash. Other activities include train rides, tractor-pulled hayrides, wagon rides, face painting and a petting zoo. Since 1994, the Ferme Roch Dubeault & Fils has operated La Magie de la Pomme to offer the public their home country products, by combining diversity and creativity. When? Family apple and pumpkin picking starts the first weekend of September and runs through the 30th of October, every weekend from 10:00AM until 5:00PM. Prince Edward Island: Arlington, Arlington Orchards.
Arlington Orchards has over 30 acres of fruit trees, and apples of 31 different varieties, four varieties of pears, and seven varieties of plums. Arlington Orchards is a family orientated U-Pick operation, offering families the chance to stroll through the orchards, pick their own fruit and on weekends take an orchard hayride. In October there's a pumpkin patch, hayrides and face painting. Canada Yellow HouseDiscovery: Their website offers fantastic apple-based recipes, sure to delight the palate of any family. Also - September 25th is the PEI Shriners' Annual Scarecrow Festival in the orchard! When? The orchards are open from September through the end of October, seven days a week.
