Entry requirements for U.S. Citizens have some variances: everyone arriving in Canada by air, land and sea needs a passport or equivalent travel document meaning an Enhanced Driver's License (EDL) which proves both citizenship and identity. (ELD is only valid for entry into Canada by land or sea.). Not all states offer licensing option so if you have never heard of ELDt then it is not an option so dust off your passports. Exceptions apply to children. U.S. and Canadian citizens ages 15 or younger with parental consent are allowed to cross the borders at land and sea entry points with certified copies of their birth certificates (or original with the raised stamp) in lieu of a passport.
Need to know: Visitors of all ages arriving in Canada by air require a passport, or an equivalent travel document.
