California: Carlsbad, Legoland – Star Wars, Pirates, and Claws.
Not only has the Force returned LEGOLAND® California, and there are claws lurking in water but a swashbuckling pirate adventure - Pirate Reef - awaits. Here’s the scoop.
LEGOLAND® California is easy fun for parents and grandparents who wish to share time not stress. The newest arrival is Pirate Reef – an adventure waterpark LEGO® style. Plus what 10 year old can resist the all new LEGO® Star Wars™ Gallery and the tempting delights included in the expansion of LEGO® Star Wars™ Miniland plus kid favorite - Claws at SEA LIFE™ Carlsbad Aquarium. Unlike theme parks where visitors watch things happen, LEGOLAND® California focuses on giving families an interactive personalized experience which allows each guest to be involved in making things happen. Start at LEGO Star Wars™ Miniland.
New LEGO® models have been added to each scene as well as a never-before-seen LEGO Star Wars Gallery. Enjoy seven of the most famous scenes from the six live-action Star Wars movies, as well as a scene from the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars™ all made out of 1.5 million LEGO bricks and built in 1:20 scale.
Now there’s even more detail in each episode. For the first time, guests will be further immersed into the Star Wars experience as they walk through the LEGO Star Wars Gallery encountering LEGO “friends”, similar to giant mini-figures, from each episode. Get splashed by frogs and pirates.
The new Pirate Reef attraction invites guests to battle each other on the high seas as they blast water cannons, try to avoid getting drenched on the main bridge and plunge 25-feet down a chute that splashes through the battle between Captain Red Brick and Captain Blue Brick. The splash bridge, water cannons and brick building play area are the three main interactive components of this new attraction which will be the first to be accessible not only through Pirate Shores within LEGOLAND California, but also via LEGOLAND Water Park. You’re invited to climb aboard.
Pirate Reef features two massive pirate ships that stand 20-feet high and 40-feet long designed for guests to climb aboard, battle each other with water cannons and blast passengers on the ride. Adding a humorous twist, LEGO® frogs designed to spray water at passengers, are part of the more than 30 pirate-themed LEGO models including both Captain Red Brick and Captain Blue Brick, pirates, monkeys, parrots and more. Wait for it!
Two additional interactive components include the splash bridge that is sure to leave guests soaked and a pirate inspired brick building play area.Look for the claws.
For aquarium lovers there’s a new twist SEA LIFE Carlsbad Aquarium where crustaceans will scuttle in the newest interactive exhibit, “Claws”. The new displays include Japanese spider crabs, which can grow to 13-feet across, and coconut crabs, named for their ability to crack open coconuts with the power of their claws plus resourceful land crabs, clever lobsters, and nephrops, a.k.a. prawns. Bonus points:
Claws also includes an interactive floor projection that reacts when kids move over it; a touch display allowing guests to feel the shell textures of different crabs plus a new daily educational presentation and feeding.Make it happen.
All of the new guest experiences are included in the cost of admission to LEGOLAND California. For ticket prices, operating schedule and additional information call (760) 918-LEGO, visit www.LEGOLAND.com
