Five Ohio State Park Lodges Offer Terrific Spring Vacation Savings for Families.Maumee State Park Ohio Family Vacation Fun. Here’s the scoop.
Five Ohio State Park Lodges located in the central and northern regions of the state are offering families two ways to save money for spring-season travel. Students ages 12 or younger stay and eat for free.  The family-friendly park list includes Salt Fork State Park Lodge, Mohican State Park Lodge, Punderson Manor State Park Lodge, Maumee Bay State Park Lodge, and my personal favorite Deer Creek State Park Lodge. Here’s the deal!  Children who have earned “A”s on their report cards earn $10 discounts off room rates for each top grade per room per night up, to five A’s or $50.

Stay and Eat Free.
Through May 30, children ages 12 or younger not only stay free but they can also eat three squares a day for free when dining in lodge restaurants with their parents. All lodge restaurants have kid-friendly menus, including plenty of healthy options. The details: To book the Kids Stay & Eat Free promotion online, use the promotional code FAMILY. Discounts for “A”s.
The popular Stays 4 “A”s program at five lodges in the central and northern parts of the state allows children to be an important part of planning a family getaway because through their personal efforts each child ids able to turn a report card A into a discount on the price of a lodge room or cottage. The details: Each A is worth a discount of $10 off the published rate per room per night up, to five A’s or $50. One report card per room may be applied for the discount, and families must present the original report card upon check-in. Blackout periods for the Stays 4 A’s program apply, and the offer is based on availability. Travelers should use the promotional code STAY4A online to make reservations. Family-friendly lodging options.
Ohio State Park Lodges offer a wide range of room choices to accommodate all kinds of groups ranging from cottages with kitchens, living areas and bedrooms with a variety of sleeping configurations to guest rooms with lofts, bunks and king and queen beds. Salt Fork State Park Lodge, for example, features bunk rooms with two double beds and a set of bunk beds. Deer Creek State Park Lodge features loft rooms with two queen beds downstairs and two sets of bunk beds in a loft above the main guest room. And Maumee Bay State Park Lodge features eight four-bedroom cottages that can accommodate up to 11 guests. Lodges also offer a limited number of pet-friendly rooms and cottages. For families needing additional beds, roll away beds are available for rent.

Plenty of fun in the spring.
The parks offer plenty of activities for all ages both inside and out. All five lodges have indoor pools, and Maumee Bay State Park Lodge even has a special splash area for kids. The lodges also feature old-fashioned game rooms, and all have a collection of board games and DVD movies for families to borrow. For families looking to get outside, there are plenty of outdoor adventures like hiking and geocaching. Lodges are close to cities throughout Ohio, so families spend less time in the car and more time having fun together. Salt Fork State Park Lodge is 12 miles from Cambridge near the I-70/I-77 interchange. Mohican State Park Lodge is east of I-71 approximately 75 miles from both Columbus and Akron. Punderson Manor State Park Lodge is 35 miles east of Cleveland and north of US-422. Maumee Bay State Park Lodge is 12 miles east of Toledo and north of the Ohio Turnpike (I-80). Deer Creek State Park Lodge is 35 miles south of Columbus and east of I-71.
