LEGOLand Florida Offers Family Fun in Primary Colors.
LEGOLand® Florida in Winter Haven welcomes young families with creativity and zeal. It's a place that channels the excitement of children, and nurtures the imagination with immersive and engaging attractions.
Here’s the scoop.
Like its European cousins and California sister, the park celebrates the world’s love-affair with all things LEGO® by delivering a dream park built with more than 50 million bricks. With 50 rides, shows and “pink knuckle” attractions, kids are in the center of the action. Opportunities to drive, fly, build and climb will keep youngsters ages 2 to 12 asking for another day in the park.
Like other LEGOLAND Parks, the Florida destination is divided into 10 fun-filled, interactive zones. Four junior coasters stand ready to offer many young theme park-goers their first thrill experience, including Coastersaurus, a wooden roller coaster that anchors Land of Adventure, and LEGO Technic® Test Track Coaster which joins the splash-tastic AQUAZONE® Wave Racers in the LEGO Technic Zone.See big ideas on a small scale.
Other zones include LEGO Kingdoms, which features knights, princesses and dragons – as well as the newest “castle” in Central Florida – and the interactive LEGO City where kids drive cars and boats by themselves. Miniland USA is the heart of LEGOLAND and features landmarks from Washington D.C., New York City, Las Vegas, and major points of interest across Florida including Cape Kennedy and the Daytona Motor Speedway, all built at a 1:20 scale. Flight school to Pharaoh's revenge.
What differentiates LEGOLAND Florida from other theme parks is the variety of child-geared attractions, from pink-knuckle thrillers to festive play areas. Four junior roller coasters offer just the right blend of speed and thrill for the entire family – not just the ones with cast-iron stomachs. The Dragon Coaster is found in the park’s LEGO Kingdoms zone, and offers a hilarious behind-the scenes view of life within the enchanted LEGOLAND Castle. Guests soar on the indoor/outdoor steel coaster and encounter a massive fire-breathing dragon along the way. Land of Adventure is where families will find Coastersaurus, a thrilling wooden coaster that curves and dips in and around a life-sized LEGO brick dinosaur. LEGO® TECHNIC™ is the most “intense” part of the park and where the “pinkest” coaster resides. The park’s final coaster – Flight School – is located in LEGO City and uses a suspended track to let kids experience the thrill of flight.
The overlooked gem of Legoland is their top-notch play areas. These wait-less attractions provide young ones with the same excitment of rides while allowing parents to take a break from lines and sun. Duplo village should be the first stop for families with toddlers. Pharaoh's Revenge is a fun, action packed battle zone that our three-year olds fell in love with. Staff note:
Legoland has some of the best rides for children, but on a busy day in the park your family will have more fun focusing on these play zones. The contsant action of play zone hopping will beat out hot lines any day and keep the kids from going crazy while waiting.Remember when?
Located on the site of the former Cypress Gardens, Florida’s first theme park which opened in 1936, LEGOLAND Florida has reclaimed the exquisite botanical gardens that made its predecessor famous. Park designers maximized the setting along the shores of Lake Eloise to offer breathtaking site lines and positioned each zone to take full advantage of the ample shade offered by hundreds of moss-draped oak trees. Staff note:
Legoland has plentiful options for food. Fun town has an all-you-can-eat pizza buffet for around ten dollars, and snack stops sell three dollar hot dogs throughout the park. We chose to grab burgers and watch the Pirate's Cove live water ski show, but Lakeside Sandwich Co. is close by also with sandwiches, wraps and salads.Location on the planet.
