Tours: USA, Fenway Park, Cooperstown and Yankee Stadium - Seeing Baseball’s Sacred Grounds. GenTour146FenwayEach season Generations Touring CompanySM (GTC) offers atruly special American vacation experience that allows families to enjoy the game of baseball in a whole new way aqnd make memories along the way.  This year the tour begins in Boston at Fenway Park the home of the World Champion Red Sox.  The seven-day tour continues to Cooperstown and the Baseball Hall Fame, and concludes in New York City with a visit to Yankee Stadium.
This unique tour explores multiple perspectives of baseball culture ranging from the excitement of live games, conversations with sports journalists, behind-the-scenes stadium tours and culminating in a visit to the Baseball Hall of Fame. This is the fun stuff grandpa should know about.
It begins at Fenway Park in Boston. Guests have the opportunity to explore Fenway Park home of the World Champion Boston Red Sox and the Green Monster in left field. Fenway Park is one of America’s oldest and most fabled baseball stadiums in America. To attend a game at Fenway Park is exhilarating. In a time when everything is turning high-tech Fenway Park has one of the last hand-operated scoreboards in the major leagues. The stadium and playing field hold the memories of some of baseball’s greatest games and anointed players including Babe Ruth, Cy Young, Jimmy Collins, Joe Cronin, Bobby Doerr, Duffy Lewis, Tris Speaker, Harry Hooper, Johnny Pesky, Ted Williams, Jimmie Foxx, Carlton Fisk, Jim Rice and Carl Yastrzemski. Tour participants will have much coveted seats to a Red Sox versus Yankees game – pretty cool. There will be lunch at Cheers and time to see Boston’s neighborhoods and important scenes of America’s early history.
Pay homage at Cooperstown.
The tour moves on to Cooperstown, the home to baseball’s Hall of Fame. Discussions on the way include such topics as the evolution of sports journalists and their role in sports today or watch your favorite baseball movie. Lunch is free time, your opportunity to explore Cooperstown on your own. Spend the afternoon at the Hall; see the permanent exhibits and visit the Baseball Wax Museum. Participate in the family oriented “Connecting Generations” trivia game featuring a panel of Hall of Famers matching wits with people from audience. The tour includes the Hall of Fame Induction ceremony. Bonus Points: This year Goose Gossage from San Diego and NY Yankees being inducted with Dave Niehaus – voice of the Seattle Mariners.
It concludes at Yankee Stadium New York City.GenTour146YankNight Tour of Yankee Stadium for the last time and go behind-the-scenes and feel the spirit of the game. Learn about the stadium that was home to such baseball greats as Ruth, Gehrig, Dimaggio, Jackson and many others who wore the Yankee pinstripes. This is a must see because this famous baseball park is being demolished at the end of the 2008 season. Attend a minor league game on Staten Island between Staten Island Yankees and the Brooklyn Cyclones. Enjoy lunch at the famous sports bar, Foley’s in Mid-town. The trip concludes with box seat at Yankee Stadium to see the Yankees take on the Baltimore Orioles.
Baseball’s Sacred Grounds ( six nights and seven days) includes all gratuities, accommodations, most meals, all tours and events and the services of the GTC SAGE and Travel Manager.
